Page to Screen

We love seeing our favorite books on the big screen! Here’s a round up of the most exciting projects we can’t wait to check out!

Crowdfunding for Beverly Jenkins’ Deadly Sexy

Check out this awesome video featuring Beverly Jenkins as she talks about the film project, and the importance of diversity being showcased in 2018. We would love to see this story on the big screen!

New Passionflix Projects from Jennifer L. Armentrout and Julie Kenner

Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Wicked is in the script stage at Passionflix! The streaming service is also working to adapt J. Kenner’s Dark Pleasures. While we impatiently wait for these upcoming releases, we’re keeping our festive holidays vibes alive by watching Jill Shalvis’s The Trouble with Mistletoe. (If the hero looks familiar to you, that’s because HE IS! You’ve already swooned over Thomas Beaudoin in Lifetime’s The Spirit of Christmas.)

Love, Simon Hits Theaters in March

We are so excited for the movie adaptation of Becky Albertalli’s RT Top Pick Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, which has been renamed Love, Simon for the big screen. We’ll meet ya at the theater March 16! In the meantime, here’s the new trailer:

Fifty Shades Freed Trailer

While you’re in trailer-watching mode (this is us, all day, every day), check out the trailer for the trilogy-ending Fifty Shades Freed.

Turtles All the Way Down Optioned for Film

To the surprise of basically no one, John Green’s latest YA, Turtles All the Way Down, was optioned to Fox 2000. We’ll just watch The Fault in Our Stars and weep in the meantime.

Stephanie Bond’s Coma Girl Heading to TV

We love Stephanie Bond’s books, so we are excited to hear that her self-published Coma Girl, where “the victim of a tragic event lies in a hospital bed at the mercy of dysfunctional family, friends, and caretakers who think she can’t hear them” — has been optioned by CBS. We can totally see this as a TV show! Writers are already attached with Stephanie consulting, and we’d like this on our fall 2018 schedule, thanks.

Nancy Naigle’s Hope at Christmas to Hallmark

Here’s how our beloved holiday movies begin: with an option! Nancy Naigle’s Hope at Christmas, in which a divorcée returns home with her daughter for the holidays, meeting a kind single dad who moonlights as the local Santa has been picked up by Crown Media and Hallmark for their holiday season programming. IF THIS ISN’T A HALLMARK MOVIE WE DON’T KNOW WHAT IS. We cannot wait to watch this while making cookies and drinking egg nog.

Heidi McLaughlin’s Forever My Girl Hits Theaters

Heidi McLaughlin’s heartwarming romance Forever My Girl hits theaters NEXT WEEK! The second-chance romance features a musician who returns home after eight years and makes a surprising discovery. Watch the trailer for a hint at what you’ll see when you head to the theaters on January 19th!

Check back next month for even more  buzz from Hollywood and be sure to tell us in the comments which book you’re most excited to see on screen!
