Self-Published Bestsellers: January 2016

So many self-published titles are released each and every day, it’s hard to know which ones are worth your time — and your cash. As always, we’re here for you, to help make sense of it all. We’ve scoured the bestseller lists to put together some of the top-selling romance titles that caught our attention this month. Get your TBR list ready!

RAPTUROUS by M.S. ForceRapturous by M.S. Force
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pub Date: January 2016
The Story:
We apologize for the forthcoming joke: Marie Force is truly a force in the publishing industry. She writes multiple long-running series, via not only self-publishing but also working with established houses as well as their digital imprints. It’s all very impressive! In this fourth addition to her Quantum series, Force gives us reluctant, Academy Award-winner director Hayden as our hero, whom she pairs with heroine Addison, who’s been pining for him for years. Years, people. Expect some steamy sex and BDSM here.

The Baller by Vi Keeland
Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance
Pub Date: January 2016
The Story: This standalone from Keeland climbed the bestseller charts as the hype for last night’s big game grew. We are loving the synergy! (Right, Tina Fey?) Sports reporter Delilah is just trying to get a scoop from star quarterback Brody. Only Brody wants more … more … more! Brody has a foul mouth (our favorite) and both hero and heroine have hurtles (we know, wrong sport) to overcome to get to that HEA. That’s right, this is a complete romance, no cliffhanger here! Go team go! (We’ll see ourselves out.)

The Score by Elle KennedyTHE SCORE by Elle Kennedy
Genre:
New Adult/Sports Romance
Pub Date: January 2016
The Story: Kennedy’s third offering in her Off-Campus series is another sports romance, only this time it’s hockey our hero excels at. Allie’s just broken up with her on-again-off-again boyfriend and she’s confused about what to do after graduation. (We are so glad we’re not 20 anymore.) A one-night stand with hockey star Dean takes off the edge, except player Dean wants more. And Dean always gets what he wants.

Big Rock by Lauren Blakely
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pub Date: January 2016
The Story: Blakely takes on two of our favorite tropes in this full-length contemporary romance — friends-to-lovers and, even better, the fake fiancée! Our hero Spencer is a bit of a playboy, but he’s nice, too, and committed to his family. Which is why he agrees to fake an engagement for his dad while some conservative investors are in town wanting to buy their flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry story. (All of this is so awesome. Love it, love it, love it.) So Spencer asks his long-time bestie to be his fiancée for the next week … and we all know how that turns out.
