To “unbosom” is to, per Merriam-Webster, “disclose thoughts or feelings of oneself.” And because we can never know enough about the authors who write our very favorite books, we created our Unbosoming questionaire to find out more, more, more! Today Lorraine Heath, whose RT Top Pick! The Earl Takes All is out now, submitted to our whims.
What was the first book you read that meant something to you? Morning Glory by LaVyrle Spencer. It put me on the path to not only reading but also writing romance.
What book do you wish you could live in? A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean. I love the Fallen Angel world she created.
What book are you an evangelist for? That can change based upon what I’ve read. Standbys for anyone new to romance are Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase and Wild at Heart by Patricia Gaffney. Recent release I’ve been touting is Sophie Jordan’s All Chained Up. It has such a different sort of hero.
What trope most mirrors your life? Office romance. I worked in the dorm cafeteria in college and married my supervisor.
What book has been in your TBR pile the longest? Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
If we pulled up next to you at a stoplight, what song would you be shamelessly singing? “Matty Groves” by Ebony Buckle, Bobby Eccles, and John Steele. I heard the song on an Inspector George Gently episode and was blown away. Just can’t get it out of my mind.
If your ghost haunted a place, where would it haunt? The Scottish Lodge where I went on a writers’ retreat with Cathy Maxwell and friends. It would be a friendly haunting, sharing time with people making memories.
Who do you want to hug right now? Our dog, Jake. We’ve been away from him for nearly a week so he’s getting all the hugs right now.
What do you do when you’re feeling discouraged? Get a massage.
If you could only vacation at one place for the rest of your life, where would it be? Disney World
What’s your favorite thing to do with your spare time? Get a massage (sensing a theme here?).
