We Miss Sookie: Paranormal Anthology Authors Share Their Sookie Love — Plus Giveaway!

Listen, sometimes we have problems with closure. We just love our books, okay? We know you understand. Which is why we were so excited when we heard Charlaine Harris and Toni L.P. Kelner were editing an anthology set in Sookie’s universe, penned by some our favorites, including Rachel Caine, MaryJanice Davidson and Seanan McGuire. Dead But Not Forgotten even got a Top Pick! Today, to whet your appetite we’ve got the introductions to some of the stories, as Charlaine weighs in on why the authors selected certain characters to write about. And because we love you so, we’ve got three copies to give away. See below for more!

“Nobody’s Business” by Rachel Caine

Rachel Caine was enthralled by Kevin and Kenya, the Bon Temps police officers who appear in most of the Sookie books. She wanted to see more of their personal lives and to find out exactly how they came to realize they were really made for each other.

“Tyger Tyger” by Christopher Golden

Christopher Golden’s story “Tyger, Tyger” begins a few months after the final Sookie novel. Quinn, my favorite weretiger, is having a very bad day, which promises to get much, much worse.

“Knit a Sweater out of Sky” by Seanan McGuire

Seanan McGuire has always found Amelia fascinating. The witch has crossed paths with Sookie time and again, but her true home is New Orleans, a city that needs its witches more than ever after the last few years.

“Love Story” by Jeanne Stein

Most of the readers of the Sookie novels were shocked to find out that Sookie’s beloved and revered Gran had conceived her two children out of wedlock. How did this out-of-character union come about?

“Widowers Walk” by MaryJanice Davidson

MaryJanice Davidson was always an Eric appreciator; he’s the man with the plan. Her story “Widower’s Walk” takes place 201 years after the events of Dead Ever After. Eric is nursing a drink and musing over life, death, the state of the world, and the repercussions of love and sacrifice. Since he’s a multitasker, he’s going to flirt with yet another waitress … and keep an eye on the assassin targeting Sookie’s descendants.
