Places to Submit Your Manuscript: February 2015

Writing is a time-consuming job, so why not let us give you a helping hand? We’ve rounded up another batch of publishers currently seeking new and exciting voices to add to their rosters. Most of the publishers this month are looking for genre fiction submissions, but there’s a little something for everyone. Take a look:

Crimson RomanceCrimson’s digital-first romance line is currently open for submissions. Before submitting, make sure your manuscript falls within one of these subgenres: Romantic Suspense, Contemporary, Paranormal, Historical and “Spicy” Romance. The publisher wants unpublished novels between 55,000 and 90,000 words. And they love quirky, off-beat romances. Peruse their guidelines to learn more!

Destiny RomancePenguin Australia’s digital imprint, Destiny Romance, is looking for new voices to add to their line-up of romantic fiction. Writers worldwide are welcome to submit. Destiny is open to all subgenres and heat levels. This is a great opportunity for aspiring authors, so brush up on all the submission details!

Hydra PublicationsThis Kentucky-based indie press strives to publish quality speculative fiction, so if you write Fantasy, Horror, Romance (Historical, Paranormal and Contemporary), Mystery/Thriller, Science Fiction or Young Adult, then you’ll want to take a look at Hydra’s submission guidelines. Who knows, they may be your story’s new home!

Fiery Seas PublishingFiery Seas Publishing is currently accepting submissions for a handful of special calls. All submissions should be between 15,000-40,000 words in length and must fall within the following genres: Contemporary, Fantasy, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Western, Historical and Mystery/Thriller. Curiosity QuillsCuriosity Quills is on the hunt for “thought-provoking, mind-twisting rollercoasters” with serialization potential. They accept Young Adult, New Adult and Adult submissions with the recommended word lengths. They love Dark Fantasy, Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Steampunk and Mystery stories, but that’s not all! Amber Quill PressAmber Quill’s three imprints are open for submissions. Their Amber Allure line is dedicated to LGBTQI fiction, Amber Heat focuses on M/F Erotic Fiction and all other genre fiction submissions should be directed to Amber Quill Press. Astraea Press Do you write Inspirational fiction? Yes? Great! Astraea Press wants to hear from you! The indie press is seeking clean romances that are either YA, Inspirational or specifically Amish stories. Take a look at their wants and other guidelines before submitting!

Long Hidden Long Hidden and Crossed Genres Publications are putting together an anthology of speculative fiction shorts by writers who belong to marginalized groups. They’re also hoping to include authors who write outside the short story format, so if you’re a playwright, essayist or poet, you’re welcome to submit, too! Learn more about the anthology here.
