Writing is a time-consuming job, so why not let us give you a helping hand? We’ve rounded up another batch of publishers currently seeking new and exciting voices to add to their rosters. Most of the publishers this month are looking for genre fiction submissions, but there’s a little something for everyone. Take a look:
Romance Writing Life: Mills Boon, WHSmith, Kobo and Kobo Writing Life are searching for romance writers to participate in their latest contest. The winning novel will be given a digital and print publishing contract with Mills Boon. Entries are to include a synopsis and first chapter, no longer than 5,500 words. Riptide Publishing: Riptide is continuing their open call for lesbian fiction writers! They’re currently accepting all sorts of ladies—mysterious ladies, paranormal ladies, rom com ladies, futuristic ladies. Heat levels can be explicit, but they are not looking for erotica. Manuscripts should be between 50,000 and 110,000 words.Their deadline is March 1st, 2016—read more about it here.
Less Than Three Press: Less Than Three Press is calling for submissions for their new bisexual anthology, Enchanted Soles. Stories must contain a magical shoe theme, one bisexual character and a romance—aromantic and queer platonic relationships are welcome. Subgenres such as steampunk, sci-fi and mystery are also accepted. Manuscripts must be between 10,000 and 20,000 words. The deadline is August 31st. ManLove Romance Press: MLR is turning up the heat with their recent call for gay erotic romance submissions for the upcoming holiday anthology The Spirit of Giving. Manuscripts should be between 10,000 and 40,000 words, can be any subgenre and must take place in the month of December. Head over to their site for details.
Carina Press: Carina Press has a rolling deadline for their submissions, however as of March 2014 they are no longer accepting unsolicited manuscripts under 35,000 words. To read what the new manuscript length requirements are, go here.
Dreamspinner Press: Although summer just got here, Dreamspinner is thinking ahead. They’re currently accepting submissions for a holiday-themed gay romance anthology. All manuscripts must have a happy ending. Submissions should be between 5,000 and 18,000 words, and the deadline is August 1st. For more details, visit their submissions page.
InkSpell Publishing: Rolling submissions are currently being considered for several of InkSpell Publishing imprints. Entries should be between 20,000 and 50,000 words. Each imprint has their own guidelines for submission, including formatting requirements.
